The Supreme Court docket on June 27 handed down a call proscribing federal judges’ means to impose nationwide injunctions in opposition to govt insurance policies, a ruling that was instantly hailed by President Donald Trump as a win for his administration.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett delivered the opinion of the court docket, writing, “These injunctions—often called ‘common injunctions’—seemingly exceed the equitable authority that Congress has granted to federal courts.”
