Trump Orders Firing of Labor Statistics Chief After July Jobs Report

President Donald Trump introduced on Aug. 1 that he has directed the termination of the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Writing in a Fact Social submit shortly after the July jobs report, Trump urged that BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer manipulated the job information and accused her of falsifying the employment numbers earlier than the 2024 election “to try to enhance [2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s] possibilities of victory.”
