Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says he’ll proceed to name particular classes of the Texas Legislature “for actually years” till Texas Democrats return to the state for a vote on redistricting.
“I’m approved to name a particular session each 30 days. It lasts 30 days. And as quickly as this one is over, I’m gonna name one other one, then one other one, then one other, then one other one,” Abbott mentioned throughout an Aug. 10 interview on “Fox Information Sunday,” amid the continuing standoff with at the least 51 Democrats who’ve left the state.
