Penelope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bruce Springsteen and Bowen Yang have been set because the honourees for the Academy Museum of Movement Photos gala fundraiser in Los Angeles on October 18.
Actress Cruz will obtain the Icon Award, which the Academy Museum says “celebrates an artist whose profession has had a major world affect.”
Brazilian filmmaker Salles will get the Museum’s Luminary Award, “given to an artist whose singular contributions have expanded the artistic potentialities of filmmaking.”
Rock icon Springsteen, who gained an Oscar in 1994 for his tune Streets Of Philadelphia, from the movie Philadelphia, will get the inaugral Legacy Award, which “honours an artist whose physique of labor has impressed generations of storytellers and deeply influenced our tradition.”
The Vantage Award for “an rising artist who helps to problem dominant narratives round cinema” goes to comic Yang.
The gala will assist elevate funds for museum exhibitions, schooling initiatives, public programming and entry initiatives.
