The U.S. protection secretary informed reporters in Brussels that to be an alliance, NATO needed to be ’greater than flags’ as he arrived for a gathering of protection ministers.
U.S. Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth stated on Thursday he was assured NATO members would signal as much as Washington’s demand to extend protection spending throughout the alliance to five % of GDP.
“To be an alliance, you’ve bought to be greater than flags. You’ve bought to be formations. You’ve bought to be greater than conferences,” Hegseth stated as he arrived at a NATO protection ministers assembly in Brussels.
