President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of protection, Pete Hegseth, stated in a Dec. 9 interview that if confirmed within the position, he’ll deal with overhauling the US navy and returning the “Pentagon to the warfighters.”
Hegseth stated that Trump instructed him to “return the Pentagon to the warfighters, Pete, get in there and clear out all of the social justice and politically right rubbish … get again to lethality, war-fighting, accountability, meritocracy, and readiness.”
Hegseth stated that’s what 95 % of the folks within the Pentagon and those that put on the uniform need.
“Whenever you return to that, it modifications the tradition of an establishment, that now stands up straight, you handle that recruiting disaster, you handle that retention disaster,” Hegseth stated.
