A federal choose dismissed on July 25 the Trump administration’s lawsuit over Illinois’s sanctuary insurance policies, holding that the insurance policies both didn’t violate federal regulation or have been protected by state sovereignty.
Filed in February, the administration’s lawsuit alleged that the state of Illinois, town of Chicago, and Prepare dinner County had every carried out insurance policies that illegally interfered with federal immigration enforcement. By limiting the circulate of knowledge to federal authorities, these insurance policies conflicted with the Immigration and Nationality Act and unconstitutionally stepped on federal energy, the administration argued.
