Sherrill and Ciattarelli beat out a number of challengers to win the first. The final election will happen on Nov. 4.
WASHINGTON—U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) and former State Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-Somerville) gained the Democratic and Republican major contests within the New Jersey gubernatorial election on June 10 and can advance to the overall election.
Ciattarelli simply beat out his Republican opponents, main with 66.3 p.c of the vote with 28 p.c counted. The Related Press referred to as the race for him at 8:17 p.m. ET. Sherrill’s race took barely longer to name, being declared the winner at 8:39 p.m.
