‘Sex’ wins $45,000 Nordic Council Film Prize

Dag Johan Haugerud’s Intercourse has received the Nordic Council Movie Prize for 2024.

It’s the second time Norwegian filmmaker Haugerud has received the award, having obtained it in 2020 for Beware Of Kids.

The prize comes with a 300,000 DKK ($43,358) award, shared among the many director, author and producers, in recognition of the collaborative nature of filmmaking. Will probably be offered at an award ceremony in the course of the Nordic Council session in Reykjavik, Iceland on October 29.

The movie was chosen from six nominees, introduced in August.

Intercourse is the primary instalment in a three-film trio titled Intercourse Goals Love. Intercourse debuted on the 2024 Berlinale, profitable the Ecumenical Jury prize in Panorama; and was nominated for 10 prizes at Norway’s nationwide Amanda movie awards, profitable 4 together with Greatest Course and Screenplay for Haugerud.

The movie follows two males in heterosexual marriages whose perceptions of sexuality, gender and id are challenged by sudden experiences.
