Public housing revolution plans have been formally introduced by Spain’s president: Large plans, larger guarantees.
Spanish President Pedro Sánchez has thrown down the gauntlet, saying a brand new public firm that can deal with Spain’s housing scarcity. Two million sq. metres of land will be put aside for reasonably priced housing, and the federal government guarantees that “1000’s and 1000’s” of latest rental properties will probably be created.
A main chunk of this plan contains 13,000 houses from the so-called Sareb and 17,000 extra to come back.
What’s the catch? Nicely, this public firm can have precedence in terms of shopping for properties and land – bypassing regional rights. And neglect promoting to vulture funds – these new houses are set to remain public.
