Texas Democrats Vow Not to ‘Make It Easy’ for Republicans’ Redistricting Efforts Before Midterms

Texas Senate Democrats stalled for hours and tried to cease the formation of a congressional redistricting committee, which might end in further Republican seats in the course of the midterm elections, as lawmakers convened in Austin for a particular session on July 21.

The Texas Senate finally voted 19–11 in favor of making the committee after a marathon session on the primary day of the 30-day particular session.
