Thanasi Kokkinakis undergoes surgery for pectoral injury

Australian tennis participant Thanasi Kokkinakis stated he has undergone surgical procedure in a bid to resolve a lingering pectoral damage.

The 28-year-old aggravated the issue in his five-set loss to Jack Draper within the second spherical of the Australian Open on Jan. 15. He retired injured halfway by a doubles match with Nick Kyrgios the next day.

“Been struggling for a short while with this … In all probability my hardest problem so far,” Kokkinakis wrote on X with an image of himself in a hospital mattress along with his proper arm in a sling. “Looking for solutions to a ongoing Pec damage that I have not been capable of repair. Kokkinakis, who reached a career-high singles rating of sixty fifth in 2023, is presently 84th and has one title to his title.

He has loved way more success in doubles, capturing a Grand Slam trophy with Kyrgios on the 2022 Australian Open.
