US, Colombia Announce Recall of Envoys Amid Diplomatic Rift

The US and Colombia recalled their ambassadors on July 3, signaling a diplomatic rift between the 2 nations amid an investigation into an alleged plot to oust Colombian President Gustavo Petro.

The Trump administration has recalled cost d’affaires advert interim John McNamara “for pressing consultations” as a result of what it referred to as “baseless and reprehensible statements” from the “highest ranges” of the Colombian authorities, in line with an announcement issued by State Division spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
